It’s official, Cape Town has been selected as the world’s top holiday destination. This follows the release of the 2012 Travellers’ Choice Awards by US-based travel website, TripAdvisor.
The Mother City managed to beat out Sydney, Machu Pichu, Paris and Rio de Janiero, which filled in the rest of the top five. The website says the awards were based on the opinions of millions of travellers, who submitted their reviews from all over the globe.
Tourism Radio founder and CEO Mark Allewell says, “The results speak for themselves. Thousands of people visit Cape Town every year, and finally our beautiful city is getting the recognition it truly deserves.” Allewell says Tourism Radio has been specifically designed to help self-drive tourists get the most out of their holidays in the Western Cape.”
Robben Island, Table Mountain and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are some of the popular tourist attractions recommended by TripAdvisor’s users. Tourism Radio’s intelligent audio guide uses location-aware technology to give you detailed information about these three places, and many more around Cape Town. Tourism Radio will point out hundreds of attractions and points of interest around the city. Discover the Cape Winelands, or take a day trip to Hermanus, the whale-watchers’ Mecca.
